Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2015
I have been away travelling, exploring, eating and babysitting all of last week, Sunday, finally gave me a chance to catch up with all the Lakme fashion Week action that I had missed. I did miss a lot, so many fantastic shows, so many gorgeous designs, so much inspiration all resulting in a very long lust list. To do justice to all the beauty and creativity that surrounds fashion week season, I plan on doing a series of “Lakme Fashion Week: my fab 5″ posts, fab 5 collections, fab 5 trends and so on, so make sure you keep coming back for some Lakme Fashion Week fun.
Starting off with my 5 favourite fashion moments from this season of Lakme Fashion Week, these are moments from on and off the ramp, moments that made me go “wooohoohoo”, here they go, in no particular order.
1. Ujjwala Raut
The original supermodel sizzled in her barely there gold Monisha Jaising dress, which had a topping of gold dust thrown in for good measure. She proved beyond any shred of doubt that they just don’t make them like her anymore. A memorable vision that will remain etched in my memory for ever.
2. Ranbir Kapoor
The heart throb with looks to kill, with each sighting he breaks a million hearts and this time was no different. Wearing a dapper, deep maroon, perfectly tailored suit by Manish Malhotra Ranbir Kapoor looked like the ultimate gentleman that he is, as he walked down the ramp and launched a new trend or two.
3. Nita Ambani
I am a big Nita Ambani fan, the power woman who seems to have it all figured out – she is gorgeous, has impeccable style, picks jaw dropping jewels, runs billion dollar businesses and a palatial home with ease and grace, a success at work and at her relationships. Nita Ambani took in a few Lakme Fashion Week shows and this was my favourite look of the lot – in a fuss free sequin Monisha Jaising jacket in the most stunning plum colour. She made a pretty picture.
4. Anita Dongre
Anita Dongre with her grassroots campaign took my breath away when she brought on the runway the women whose hands create the signature and the details that we have come to love of Anita Dongre’s designs. The show proved that every woman radiates beauty and every woman has her own style.
5. Mother Daughter Duos
Being a mother of a little girl who is extremely creative and already has her own, sure and determined, sense of style, watching other mother and daughter duos working and playing together is very special to me, it evoked emotions and gives me a license to dream. Watching these mothers and daughters soak in the fashion week together was a lovely sight to see.
6. The Bonus Finale Moment
The set, the exaggerated drama of the clothes and Kareena Kapoor Khan – the finale moment filled with over the top opulence, fitting for a fashion week finale.
