Oscars 2015: best moments captured!
The Oscar fever is not over yet! It was fun and it was emotional. We at LGFF are still reeling under the intoxicating effect of all the glamour, the emotions, the elation, the drama, the entertainment and the fashion that marks an event as iconic as the Oscar Awards. From the star studded red carpet to the scintillating performances and speeches, let’s relive the best moments of the night.
The first making to the list is the host of the night himself and his opening number. Neil Patrick Harris’ just took things a notch up with his performance this time. After years of hosting The Tonys, he delivered a great musical pieceand set the pace for a great night ahead.
The second moment made fashion lovers in India jump for joy. With all the elite luxury brands reining the red carpet at the Oscars, Nancy O’ Dell took a different route, choosing to take India to LA by wearing an exquisite black gown by Gauri and Nainika. An Indian label at an international award ceremony! How cool is that!
I am sure even your confidence would have soared high up after the most original and inspirational speech ever, by Graham Moore. He quite justified his award title ‘best original screenplay’. He said “I would like for this moment to be for that kid out there who feels like she doesn’t fit in anywhere. You do. Stay weird. Stay different, and then when it’s your turn and you are standing on this stage please pass the same message along.”
While it was quite shocking that the LEGO movie was not nominated in the best animated movie category, the performance on its track ‘everything is awesome’ came as quite a pleasant surprise with Tegan and Sara joining the lonely island.
LEGO also made its presence felt, in the form of a LEGO Oscar, which was passed around to different stars. Oprah loved her LEGO Oscar so much she even brought it to the after party.
All those who love Lady Gaga, shout out louddd!!
Oh, I can hear the cheers! Well, you must have fallen in love with the lady all the more after her super stunning performance of ‘the sound of music medley’. The emotional high point was when Julia Andrews herself came up on the stage and embraced her.
Her performance was so powerful that we even forgot those dishwasher gloves
NPH strips down for one of his gig! Well, I would not say he has a great body but we did not mind, did we?? His comic timing made up for those missing six pack abs.
I cannot help but mention the moment that drew the biggest ‘awwwwwww’ for me. It was at the Oscar after party when Behati Prinsloo had a wardrobe malfunction and husband Adam came to the rescue, sheilding her from photographers and letting the world know “She is all mine”. Awwwww.
After all was said and done, it was a night for the ‘Birdman’ cast and crew. Winning four prizes creating the biggest sweep of the year.
It was a long but still a very entertaining award ceremony. Applause!
